Rata and the waka

Oral story telling is how indigenous cultures passed down how to navigate life, the sea and is a traditional way of teaching and learning.

This e-pattern brings to life the story of Rata and the waka. Rata learns an improtant lession about Kaitiakitanga and karakia. I have included an oral version of the story as I tell it and a simple karakia that you and the children can use.

You can make this resource in around 30 minutes (not including the drying time for the story stones.

You will get your e-pattern as soon as you pay on the thank you page.

P.S. This e-pattern goes well with the the 3 patterns in the the Māori Pūrākau bundle, which is $14 instead of $21 for 3 e-patterns.

This pattern is now part of the Story stones BUNDLE and you may want to buy this and SAVE (you get 6 e-patterns $15, value $27)
